There is only one thing you need to know, one thing that really matters in the grand scheme of things. My friends and I have a destiny, and it’s finally catching up to us. The truth of the prophecy that has haunted us for years has finally been revealed.

It goes something like this:

On June 6th, 2006(yes, I know, subtle!) 3,000 years to the day of Apocalypse’s birth, my best friend, teammate and leader Josh Kerr will fight Apocalypse and die. You see, it is the only way to forever rid the world of the evil mutant. But this fight will cost him his life but at the same time, a great catastrophe will be averted.

If Josh dies before the 6th, Apocalypse will live but slumber for hundreds of years. Again a great catastrophe will be averted.

But if Josh survives past the 6th, Apocalypse apparently won’t slumber, and the catastrophe will hit and thousands will die. I don’t know what it will be, but its apparently unavoidable if Josh and Apocalypse both live.

There are only two paths, two choices. Life or death. And I know Josh. I know what he’d choose. He’d die.

So I’ve taken it upon myself to keep the truth of the prophecy from him, to lie to him. It’s the only way to protect him, to keep him alive past June 6th.

But I won’t let innocent people die either.

I’m going to defy destiny. I’m going to find Apocalypse, and I’m going to kill him. Destiny said only Josh only could do it, that it’s written but I don’t let anyone tell me what I can’t do, especially not because of fate.

If one person needs to die to prevent this catastrophe, I will do everything in my power to make sure it isn’t Josh.
